Dr. MED. DENT. Sebastian Baumgaertel

D.M.D., M.S.D., FRCD (D)

Dr. Baumgaertel is a Clinical Associate Professor at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio where he serves as Director of the sub-speciality clinic for skeletal anchorage and instructor of the orthodontics biomechanics coruse.

He is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Baumgartel has lectured worldwide on various orthodontic topics and specifically on mini-implants and Cone Beam Computed Tomography.

He has published multiple scientific articles and serves as a member of the editorial review board of high profile journals such as the “American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics”.

Additionally, he is author and co-editor of two text books. Aside from devoting his time to research and education, he also maintains an active private practice in Longmont, Colorado.

Terms and Conditions

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION AND PAYMENT

1. Validity

The following conditions of participation and payment shall apply for the TOMAS TAD Advanced Course on 10 May 2025 held in collaboration with TOC and Dentaurum.

2. Binding registration

(1) To participate, registration must be made in written form, and confirmation of registration is necessary. Registrations are reviewed in the order they are received by TOC.

(2) The Agreement for participation comes into force upon binding confirmation of registration from TOC which will be sent to the email address given by the participant on registration.

3. Content and procedure

(1) The location and content of the course are as stated in the publication, unless changes should be deemed necessary by the person responsible for the content of the course.

(2) Should it become necessary to change the date of the course, TOC will immediately inform the participants of this, stating the new days. Existing registrations remain valid. Should a participant not be able to attend on the new date, course fees already paid will be reimbursed in accordance with Section 4, para 3. TOC is not obliged to offer participants an alternative date for the course. TOC is not liable for the reimbursement of further costs.

(3) TOC is entitled to cancel the course if an important reason exists, eg. insufficient number of participants, non-availability of the speaker, technical problems or in the case of unforeseeable circumstances or circumstances that are unavoidable despite taking due care and which do not fall in the risk sphere of one party (force majeure) In such a case, TOC will inform the participants of the cancellation immediately.

(4) TOC is not obliged to offer participants an alternative date for the event. Should the event be cancelled at the latest 14 days before the planned date, claims beyond reimbursement of the participation fee are excluded (in particular, for example, reimbursement of travel and accommodation costs). In deviation of this, TOC is also only obliged to reimburse participation fees that have already been paid if the event is cancelled at shorter notice because of reasons pertaining to force majeure.

4. Terms of payment

(1) The fee as shown in the course publication applies and includes course materials and refreshments during coffee/tea and lunch breaks.

(2) Full payment of the fee is due on receipt of the confirmation of registration (according to Section 2, para 2). Fees do not include charges and are payable within 7 days of receipt of invoice. If payment is not received within this time frame the participants place may be released to another participant.

(3) The participant shall receive reimbursement of the participation fee only if TOC receives notification in writing that the participant cannot attend at the latest 6 weeks before the event. Should the notification arrive later, it is not possible to claim reimbursement of the participation fee. The participant may, however, name a replacement participant.

5. Certificate of attendance and CPD training points

(1) Each participant will receive a certificate of attendance at the event.

(2) The number of CPD points awarded will be as shown in the course brochure, provided that they took part in the event.

6. Liability

(1) Participants take part in the event at their own risk. Instructions by TOC/Dentaurum staff responsible for event organisation or an appointed third party at the event location shall be followed unconditionally.

(2) TOC accepts no liability for damage(s) which may occur as a result of a failure to follow instructions given by the person(s) responsible for the event organisation or as a result of an accidents which is the participant’s own fault.

(3) TOC’s liability shall be – for whatever legal reason and including obligation for accidents and loss or damage to personal belongings - subject to mandatory statutory provisions, limited to intent and gross negligence.

7. Images, video and audio recordings

During events, no recording of images, videos or audio whatsoever or publication of such recordings is permitted in view of conflicting rights (eg. In particular, privacy rights of participants and copyrights to course contents), which explicitly includes the posting of such recordings on social networks and socalled live-streaming.

8. Miscellaneous

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. By booking and attending this course, participants agree that that any disputes arising out of or connection with this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, regardless of their country of residence
