 Step by step insertion - best sites for orthodontic mini-screw insertion

 How to be successful with orthodontic mini-screws

 Biomechanics of canine and en masse retraction

 Correction of vertical problems; deep overbite / open bite

• Correction of transverse problems = Mini-screw Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion (MARPE)

Practical:

 Tomas® insertion in bone blocks

• Bonding L-shaped wire from cross head tomas® pin to palatal surface of maxillary first molar (indirect anchorage)

 

Course Aim:

To provide fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge to start using the tomas® skeletal anchorage system

Learning objectives: 

 Learn clinical application of orthodontic mini-screws

 Understand treatment planning and biomechanical considerations for the use of mini-screws

 Learn step by step insertion of tomas® mini-screws

 Understand correction of vertical and transverse problems

 Gain hands-on experience of insertion of tomas-pins

Anticipated learning outcome:

 Understand the use of orthodontic mini-screws

• Carry out safe treatment with the tomas® mini-screws

 

Booking Terms & Conditions: 

Full confirmation will be sent from TOC upon receipt of the booking and payment for the course. If TOC receives notification that the participant cannot attend the event at the latest 6 weeks prior, then the course fee may be reimbursed in full. If notification is received within 6 weeks of the course it is not possible to claim reimbursement of fees. The participant however, may name a replacement. TOC reserves the right to alter the programme without prior notification and the right to cancel an event up to 24 hours prior to it’s commencement without incurring additional liability. Reimbursement of course fees would be made in this case. E&OE.

 

Speaker Information

Dr Fady Hussein Fahim

BDS, MSc, PhD, MOrth RCSEd,  FDS RCSEd

Dr Fady is an international speaker with more than 20 years experience in Orthodontics. He obtained four postgraduate degrees in Orthodontics including his Masters degree, PhD, Membership and Fellowship from the Royals College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

Dr Fady is currently Associate Professor of Orthodontics at Cairo University and also runs his own private practice – Perla Dental Clinic in Cairo. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists. Dr Fady specialises in skeletal anchorage, digital orthodontics, clear aligners,  orthognathic surgery as well as cleft lip and palate.
